SafeRide Health is dedicated to reducing barriers to care by improving the delivery of non-emergency medical transportation to people across America. SafeRide Health leverages proprietary technology, and a nationwide network of select transportation providers, to give payers and health systems a more intelligent way to deliver cost-effective, on-demand transportation while improving the patient experience. SafeRide delivers over 3 million rides per year, nationally, for Medicare, Medicaid and commercial populations.
Why solve this problem?
50% of healthcare is showing up. SafeRide ensures access to care for the nation's most vulnerable populations including the elderly and underserved. 60% of our volume is to life sustaining care (e.g., Dialysis, Oncology and Behavioral Health).
Hardest thing about being a founder?
Learning how to balance the big picture with immediate short term needs. It’s exciting to see how fast healthcare is evolving. We need to balance time to build the model of the future while also ensuring we deliver every day for our members.
Biggest piece of advice for aspiring founders?
Build as much of your idea as you can in magic time. We iterated on this concept for 3 years and pivoted twice before we quit our jobs and went all in.
Most exciting moment so far?
When we launched the largest Medicaid contract in Texas. The program serves over 1 million Texans and includes helping foster kids get to care. Lots of us on the SafeRide team are young parents, so it means a lot to help this community.
