Company description
NestEgg is an app for the 12M mom and pop landlords who see rental property investing as their path to financial independence. NestEgg sits at the intersection of FinTech and PropTech with advanced lending and cash flow features to boost landlord’s income and a 2-sided marketplace to take the stress out of repairs and maintenance.
Why solve this problem?
Securing families’ financial futures is a meaningful purpose to us because the benefits pay off generationally. People who don’t have to live paycheck to paycheck can spend more time with their children, invest in their health and education, and have the time and resources to care for things outside of their own livelihood such as the environment and other social issues. If you care about anything at all then you should care about individual financial wellness.
Hardest thing about being a founder?
Staying focused on running your own race and winning the way you know how in an environment with competitors, advisors, and books/conventional wisdom containing an almost infinite variety of different opinions.
Biggest piece of advice for aspiring founders?
If you’re having a bad day, wait 24 hours.
Most exciting moment so far?
The day we crossed 1,000 orders in our marketplace - that took 2 years, and then it took less than a year to get to 5,000. Those are the little milestones that keep us excited!
Why did you choose Bonfire?
When we first met Jim it was clear he had our best interest at heart and - even before becoming an investor - he helped us with a lot of corporate and legal structure which gave us reliable foundations. As a group of technical founders we wanted to spend all our time on our product, and this was exactly the kind of help we needed.
What’s it like to work with Bonfire?
My favorite memories from our early time with Bonfire can only be described as “Brett’s invasive product clinic”. Having access to experienced operators who are prepared to go as deep as you want on your product and ops is super valuable.
