Why solve this problem?
In 2013 my fiancee called me after her car had broken down. I quickly ordered an Uber and got to her within minutes. Once at the scene, I realized we needed roadside assistance. Securing help was extremely difficult and painful. For days after this experience I kept thinking of how easy it was to press a single button and get an Uber ride, but not for a quasi-emergency situation when you desperately need help. This got me digging into the roadside assistance industry, and subsequently realizing that the market is ripe for technology disruption.
Hardest thing about being a founder?
The founder journey can be an emotional roller coaster with high highs and low lows. In the early years everything can feel very fragile. You won’t always have the answers, but you think everyone expects you to.
Biggest piece of advice for aspiring founders?
Persistence is your best friend on this journey that at times will feel lonely. Highs and lows will come and go, learn to enjoy the journey. Build a top class team!
Most exciting moment so far?
Securing a massive multi-year roadside assistance contract with Farmers Insurance after just two years in business.
