Its flagship product, Edify CX, unites contact center (CCaaS), unified communications (UCaaS), and real-time communications platform (CPaaS/API) functionality in a single cloud-native solution that facilitates continuous conversations. Now, customers and employees can easily move among channels in one window, just like they do every day on their phones.

Why solve this problem?

Customer service is broken — stuck in a time warp. As everything has evolved around it, the technology available to support the way businesses engage with customers has mostly stood still. The tools we have on our phones are wildly superior to what’s available to us when we engage with our favorite brands. The truth that no one wants to say out loud is that Big Tech has held the customer experience hostage for decades with its giant servers, complex implementations, buried software, and expensive contracts. And that’s just not ok with us. So we founded Edify to seize the opportunity in the void and to remove the roadblocks between your brand and the experience everyone deserves. 

Hardest thing about being a founder?

The most challenging part of being a founder is having three audiences that matter infinitely to the success of an idea you believe passionately in: the team you build, the customers you serve, and the venture community. My passion for the product and the opportunity at hand has to be nuanced just so for each of these groups, and they each are so critical depending on what is happening at any given moment of any day.

What’s the biggest piece of advice for aspiring founders?

Sometimes, the first time isn't the charm and that's ok - it wasn't supposed to be. Instead of fearing failure, understand that it’s necessary to learn and grow. You gained something from trying the first time that will potentially make the second time the charm. The world needs your ideas, so keep going.

Most surprising or exciting moment so far?

Recently, Google named Edify a Google Chrome Enterprise Recommended partner for the contact center. To earn this designation, Edify worked with Google to extend product functionality, quality, security, and user experience, ensuring Edify CX meets the highest performance standards and is easy for employees and businesses to adopt. Through this new partnership, Edify and Google will market, sell, and continually innovate, working together to develop new and expanded ways for Edify to work with Chrome OS and Chromebooks.

Why did you choose Bonfire?

Bonfire has over 20 years of SAAS operating experience, which is important in helping Edify craft scalable business models that drive product and market fit. With most of our fund investors located in the Bay area, Bonfire also has the advantage of being local to us in the Santa Monica area. Bonfire provides us with the local support and resources we need to grow our business in Southern California.

What’s the biggest impact Bonfire has had on your company?

We’re really thrilled with the number of features and depth of capabilities our dedicated development team has been able to build in such a short amount of time. The speed and the scope of what we have built and branded from scratch have been made possible by our funding from Bonfire.
