Why solve this problem?

The hardware industry has been constrained for decades by grossly inefficient data management tools. These inefficiencies have resulted in massive overhead to manage the data as it moves through the hardware lifecycles, adding unnecessary costs, delays, and risks. The world has evolved to a more dynamic supplier centric model, and its time the tools used to design and manufacture hardware products caught up.

Hardest thing about being a founder?

The constant roller coaster of ups and downs can be emotionally draining. It’s always exciting when your company gets a big win (new VIP customer, new investor, new partnership, new press) and heartbreaking when there’s a loss (rejection from an investor, losing a customer). It’s too easy to let yourself get over optimistic or pessimistic with each event. The best thing to do is acknowledge the event and move on. There will always be more ups and downs, so don’t get too distracted by each one.

Biggest piece of advice for aspiring founders?

Perseverance and don’t lose the forest through the trees. Don’t get distracted by something that may seem important at the moment but isn’t in the larger context of building a world class enterprise company.

Most surprising or exciting moment so far?

Talking to customers and other industry partners who have the same understanding of the problems in the hardware industry and share a common vision of what is possible.

Why did you choose Bonfire?

Bonfire was the clear choice. Their team is some of the sharpest and most approachable investors I’ve ever met. Every time we spoke with Jim, Brett, or Mark we learned something new that benefited our company. When the timing was right to bring them on as an investor, we already had a strong relationship and we hit the ground running.
